.Demand for the UAE’s long-term residency programmes—including the Golden Visa, Freelance Visa, and Remote Work Visa—is increasing as the US introduces a $100,000 application fee for new H-1B petitions.

According to Dubai-based advisory firm JSB, inquiries from US-based applicants, particularly Indians, have more than doubled. Founder and MD Gaurav Keswani noted that many H-1B holders and Green Card recipients are seeking alternative immigration options, with some setting up entities in the UAE or applying for Freelance Visas.

Shayan Sultan, Partner at Fragomen, described the steep H-1B fee as a significant shift in US immigration policy, highlighting the UAE’s appeal for skilled professionals, investors, and remote workers. He pointed to the country’s strong infrastructure, safety, healthcare, education, and tax-free environment as key attractions.

Consultants expect sustained interest from technology professionals and globally mobile talent, positioning the UAE as a competitive alternative for long-term residency and investment-driven immigration.
