Employees of all professions have unions to address the problems of the workers. However till now Software and BPO professionals never had any such union and many of their problems went unaddressed. Many serious problems of the software employees went unnoticed and even employees had no where to go. According to the latest even IT professionals will now have a union.
UNITES (Union for ITeS professionals) will work for solving the problems of the professionals. More than 300 members from IT unions across the country graced the first conference of UNITES held in Hyderabad. Bandaru Dattatreya, Union Labour Minister launched the UNITES Foundation Conference and he stressed the importance of IT employees well being as they are the major contributors for the GDP of the nation.
More than 50000 IT employees registered with UNITES from all over India where as 2000 proffesionals took membership from hyderabad. Minumum wages of employees in IT and ITES secor form the main agenda of UNITES.
