The University of Glasgow has announced a new £15,000 (approximately ₹18.2 lakh) scholarship for Indian students enrolling in one-year, full-time postgraduate taught programmes for the 2026–27 academic year. The initiative is part of the university’s broader effort to deepen academic engagement with India while making world-class UK education more accessible.
The scholarship is open to Indian nationals classified as international fee-paying students and applies to a wide range of postgraduate courses, including banking, finance, economics, analytics, human resource management, and other eligible disciplines. Applicants must hold an offer letter for a qualifying programme and demonstrate academic performance equivalent to a UK First Class Honours degree, typically 70 per cent or higher in Indian grading standards.
Students will have two opportunities to apply, with deadlines on February 23 and May 18, 2026. Selection will be based on academic merit and overall applicant profile. Applications must be submitted online through the university’s official portal.
Ranked 79th globally in the QS World University Rankings 2026, the University of Glasgow—founded in 1451—offers more than 300 degree programmes. In addition to tuition support, students under 22 years of age can benefit from free bus travel across Scotland, helping to further reduce living expenses. At a time of rising overseas education costs, the scholarship presents a significant opportunity for Indian students seeking a globally respected UK master’s degree.
