Filmmaker Anand L Rai, renowned for crafting emotionally rich love stories that resonate deeply with audiences, is reportedly gearing up to explore a new genre. After winning acclaim for his heartfelt romances, the director is now said to be venturing into a period action romance, marking a significant shift in his filmmaking journey.

According to strong industry buzz, following the success of Tere Ishq Mein, Anand L Rai is planning to helm this ambitious project. Adding to the excitement, Dhanush is rumored to be the frontrunner for the lead role. If true, this would mark yet another collaboration between the celebrated actor-director duo.

Anand L Rai and Dhanush have previously teamed up on three films. While Raanjhanaa and Tere Ishq Mein emerged as major successes and earned cult status, their third collaboration Atrangi Re failed to recreate the same level of commercial impact. Despite that setback, the creative chemistry between the two remains highly regarded within the industry.

As of now, there has been no official confirmation regarding the project. Meanwhile, Dhanush’s 54th film, tentatively titled D54, has recently wrapped up shooting and is expected to hit screens in February or March 2026.
