Sunayana, wife of slain techie Srinivas Kuchibhotla spoke at tribute-paying gathering at Garmin the other day. Her moist eyes and chocked voice have not stopped her from asking strong questions.
She revealed about asking Srinivas many a time about leaving the US, as the intolerence is growing at large and each day a new incident proving the same happened. But Srinivas urged her to be positive and ‘good things happen to good people’ is what he said to her.
Sunayana always wondered about how safe are we? She described how they came to US about ten years back meeting online and getting married in 2012. She even revealed about their planning for children and everything looks blur now with his death just few days before his 33rd birthday,
Srinivas always rejected the idea of Sunayana’s idea of leaving for India and now She became the voice of many immigrants who had doubts and worries on minds about living in the US. The very question from her ‘Do we belong here?’ echoed on everyone’s minds at tribute paying gathering of Garmin and many Indians who watched the video of her speech.
Sunayana demanded an answer from US government on what they promise to take up measures to put down the hate crime that has taken away her husband and many others on US lands. She demands an answer before she leaves for India to look after the last rites of her husband in India.
While Trump is good at delivering anti-immigrant rhetoric speeches, many started blaming him for not responding on the latest hate crime, the president’s spokesperson Sean Spicer says it is too early to jump to a conclusion as they have seen that too often in the past in Florida and other places.
