Kamal Hassan off late had become synonym of controversies. His last film, Viswaroopam was an issue for Muslims and his new film, Uttama Villain is objected by Hindus. VHP’s Tamil Nadu wing called for a ban on the movie claiming that the lyrics of a song in the film had derided a conversation between Prahalad and Hiranyakashipu and this hurt the feelings of Hindus.
They approached the Police Commissioner and pressed for a ban with a complaint against the film. A complaint was registered by the officials of the grievance cell of the Commissionerate. VHP is also planning state wide protests against the film and the makers.
Uttama Villain is slated for this month release and this issue is bound to create new headaches for Kamal Hassan. Uttama Villain is directed by Ramesh Arvind starring Kamal Haasan, Jairam, Oorvashi, Andrea, Pooja Kumar along with late director K Balachander
