Fab Four Set for Historic Sankranti 2027 Clash

If everything goes according to plan, Sankranti 2027 could witness an unprecedented box-office showdown in Tollywood. For the first time ever, Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, and Venkatesh—the Fab Four of Telugu cinema—may lock horns during the biggest festival season.
Despite their long and illustrious careers, these four stalwarts have never clashed simultaneously at the box office. While a couple of them have occasionally released films around the same festive period in the past, a four-way clash has remained elusive—until now.
Victory Venkatesh has already locked his Sankranti berth. Director Anil Ravipudi officially announced that his next film with Venky will hit screens during Sankranti 2027 without fail. The film, touted to be a full-fledged entertainer, will feature Fahadh Faasil in a crucial role. Given Ravipudi’s track record of timely releases, the project is expected to stick firmly to its festival date.
Joining the race is Akkineni Nagarjuna, who has reportedly finalized the sequel to his 2016 blockbuster Soggade Chinni Nayana. Directed by Kalyan Krishna, the sequel is expected to reunite the Akkineni trio, with Akhil and Naga Chaitanya also playing key roles. Nagarjuna is currently busy shooting for his landmark 100th film under director Ra Karthik, which is likely to release this year. The sequel’s regular shoot is expected to commence shortly after, aiming for a Sankranti 2027 release.
While Venky and Nag appear firm about their festival releases, Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nandamuri Balakrishna are also reportedly keen on joining the high-voltage clash. Chiranjeevi, fresh from ruling the Sankranti box office with Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu, is planning another mass entertainer with director KS Ravindra (Bobby). This marks their second collaboration after Waltair Veerayya. Although the film’s shoot was delayed due to legal issues involving producer KVN Productions and Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, a quick start could still see the film make it to Sankranti 2027.
On the other hand, Balakrishna is gearing up for NBK111, to be directed by Veera Simha Reddy fame Gopichand Malineni. Pre-production is in full swing, and the makers are reportedly planning an aggressive shooting schedule to wrap up filming by December, setting the stage for a grand Sankranti release.
Despite the rise of next-generation stars, all four veterans continue to command massive fan followings across age groups and regions. If this much-anticipated clash materializes, Sankranti 2027 could go down as one of the most memorable and historic moments in Tollywood’s box-office history.
For now, all eyes are on how things unfold. Only time will tell if this clash of Tollywood titans truly becomes a reality.
