The Union Urban Development Ministry releases funds every year for the various municipalities across the country for works in progress. Venkayya Naidu heads this Ministry. He had recently sanctioned Rs 1000 crore from his Ministry for construction of new capital.
This means that amount should only be used for activity in Thulluru Mandal. However, at an event in Guntur, Venkayya Naidu said the funds would also be utilized for the development works in Guntur and Vijayawada for underground drainage and drinking water schemes, as these cities also come under the capital area.
Venkayya Naidu’s plan is clear. He is simply showing the fund allotted to municipalities as fund released for the new capital region! Wonder whether Chandrababu is aware of this or not! Given the rapport between them, Chandrababu must have been in the loop.
