Seems like Kamal Haasan is determined to implement his path-breaking DTH plan some way or the other. Earlier, His spy thriller ‘Viswaroopam’ landed in trouble after Theatre Owners across Tamilnadu refused to screen the film objecting the DTH proposal. Finally, Kamal dropped his plans to ensure a smooth theatrical release.
To everyone’s surprise, Kamal wants to revive his DTH plans for ‘Viswaroopam 2’. Claiming that DTH is the future and the idea of one-time screening of the film at premium price on TV would benefit the producer. “DTH will give the opportunity to the people to watch the film at home on Day 1 and also makes them throng theatres as the impact would be more while watching on big screen. Few people are opposing this idea citing dip in theatrical revenue. Everyone have a kitchen at home, then how so many restaurants are surviving? I want to implement DTH plan for ‘Viswaroopam 2’. If it’s not possible in India, then I would try it in abroad”.
Kamal Haasan isn’t scared of facing challenges and he has grown up that way! We have to wait and watch how big a controversy ‘Viswaroopam 2’ is going to create. Good luck Mr Haasan!
