Films like NOTA and Taxiwaala have put Vijay Deverakonda under serious pressure as they released after he became a big star with Geetha Govindam.He committed to do these films prior to Geetha Govindam’s blockbuster success and they came out when his films are riding on very high expectations.
NOTA was an experimental kind of flick that has literally nil commercial elements and entertainment. It was a serious political drama made in Tamil and dubbed into Telugu.It was a blunder to release such film post Geetha Govindam and as expected the film tanked at the box office. And Taxiwaala is a low budget concept thriller that doesn’t require a star like Vijay Deverakonda.
Luckily, Taxiwaala didn’t do any damage to Vijay’s image and has become a box office success too. These are kind of backlogs for Vijay when he is on the rise. Now that these films are out of his way,Vijay can plan his future films according to his current stardom and expectations of fans.
His upcoming film Dear Comrade will take a while to finish. Apparently, there wouldn’t be any other releases for Vijay in 2019 besides Dear Comrade.
