Vijay Deverakonda Clarifies Comments on Nepotism Ahead of Kingdom Release

Vijay Deverakonda, a true self-made star who rose from humble beginnings to become the “Rowdy Boy” of Indian cinema, recently opened up about the ongoing debate around nepotism.

In a recent interview, Vijay spoke about the advantages that come with having a film family background, which many perceived as his comments on nepotism. His remarks quickly went viral, sparking mixed reactions. Some felt that Vijay’s statements were inappropriate, especially considering his current star status, while others believed he was simply sharing his perspective.

Clarifying his stand during a press meet for his upcoming film Kingdom, Vijay explained:

“This isn’t just about actors. In any profession, having a father or family background in that field is a blessing, not a burden. It gives them guidance and better choices. I was only trying to convey that. Even for journalists, if their children want to pursue the same career, they would naturally guide them.”

Vijay also acknowledged that his younger brother, Anand Deverakonda, now enjoys certain advantages because of him.

Meanwhile, Vijay’s much-awaited film Kingdom, directed by Gautham Tinnanuri, is all set to release in theatres tomorrow.
