At the pre-release event of Kingdom in Tirupati, Vijay Deverakonda took everyone by surprise with a flawless speech delivered entirely in the Chittoor dialect. Known for his distinct Telangana accent, Vijay seamlessly adapted to the local style for over 4–5 minutes, earning loud cheers and appreciation from the audience for his effort and respect towards the region’s culture.
The authenticity of his speech stood out, showing a different side of the actor—not just as a performer but also as someone who values connecting with people on a personal level. However, while most of his speech was impressive, one closing remark sparked mixed reactions. In an attempt to add a catchy, dramatic touch, he ended with the line: “Vaanakka manalni e naa koduku aapede le,” a phrase many felt was unnecessary and out of place, especially while speaking about Tirumala Venkanna and seeking blessings for his career.
What seemed like an effort to imitate Pushpa’s famous “Thaggede le” catchphrase didn’t sit well with the audience. Social media has since been buzzing with discussions, with many fans suggesting that sincere and heartfelt moments don’t need gimmicky lines.
Overall, the speech was well-received for its cultural sensitivity, but that one line ended up diluting the emotional impact of an otherwise memorable address.
