Vijay, one of the biggest stars in South Indian cinema, is currently at a crucial turning point in his career as he steps actively into Tamil Nadu politics ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
The actor recently found himself amid intense personal speculation following reports about issues in his marriage with Sangeeta. Despite the surrounding buzz, Vijay appears determined to stay focused on his political journey. He made a strong public appearance at a massive gathering in Thanjavur, drawing significant crowds and reaffirming his growing political presence.
The response from youth and various sections of the public was notable, indicating sustained momentum for his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). Observers pointed out that despite recent controversies, Vijay’s ability to attract large crowds reflects his influence and grassroots appeal.
During his address, Vijay also offered a glimpse into his party’s proposed election manifesto, making several key promises focused on farmers and underprivileged communities.
He assured free education for students from farming families owning less than two acres of land. Referring to recent fertilizer shortages in the Delta region — where reports suggested hoarding and black-market sales — Vijay stated that if TVK comes to power, such issues would be strictly addressed and prevented.
Additionally, he promised a complete waiver of crop loans taken from agricultural cooperative banks for farmers owning up to five acres of land. For those with more than five acres, he said the government would explore measures to waive up to 50% of their crop loans.
With these announcements, Vijay signaled that agrarian welfare and youth empowerment would be central to his political agenda as he intensifies preparations for the elections.
