Speaking to the media here on Thursday, he said Dr. B R Ambedkar, architect of India’s constitution, has long back proposed that Hyderabad should be the second capital of India. He has alleged that the Seemandhra leaders had neglected Visakhapatnam, because of their attachment to Hyderabad.
Undavalli claimed that the three small states created earlier were as per the vision of Dr. Ambedkar. Conceding that division becomes inevitable if people want it, Undavalli said the people who want to part should have majority in the Assembly. He has appealed to the leaders of both Telangana and Seemandhra to accept any decision taken in the best interests of the nation.
Claiming that there would be no harm even if the state were to be divided, Undavalli said the UPA government was striving to develop all the backward regions. He argued that a resolution of the Assembly was necessary for state bifurcation.
