Vishwaksen’s upcoming film Laila is set to release this weekend, with the actor donning a lady’s getup for the role. Directed by Ram Narayan, the film held a pre-release event recently, with Megastar Chiranjeevi as the chief guest. However, a speech by Pruthviraj during the event has sparked controversy, particularly among YSRCP followers, who have called for a boycott of the film.
In light of the controversy, Vishwaksen took to social media to address the issue and clarify things. He requested that his film not be dragged into politics and apologized once again to those who were hurt by the situation. Vishwaksen explained that some posters featuring him displaying a middle finger were old and had been released previously, not in connection with the current controversy. He clarified that these images were from Sonumodel’s first look poster released a month ago, and the recent red suit poster was also from the past.
Na cinemaki samandhinchina prathi poster na cinema ki samandhinchindhi matrame this was #sonumodel first look poster released month ago . And the present red suit photo is also from past . “Please understand that all these posters are from the past. I can’t keep second-guessing myself before every post about my film,” Vishwaksen wrote. He encouraged his followers to spread love, maintain peace, and refrain from using foul language on social media. He reiterated his stance by writing, “I’m just an actor. Don’t bring me or my film into politics.”
The actor concluded his message with a plea for peace and a reminder to focus on the film rather than overthinking issues: “#boycotttheboycottlaila. Let’s stop overthinking and start maintaining peace. Watch Laila in theatreson February 14.”
