The mythological action drama Kannappa is capturing nationwide attention even before completing its first week at the box office. In a major development, the film’s Hindi satellite rights have been acquired by a top distribution company for a staggering ₹20 crore, reflecting its rising popularity and strong pan-India potential.

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and penned by Vishnu Manchu, Kannappa is inspired by the legendary tale of the ardent Shiva devotee Kannappa. Produced by Mohan Babu, the film features a powerhouse ensemble including Mohanlal, Kajal Aggarwal, Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, and Brahmanandam, adding star value across language markets.

Kannappa opened on a high note with a first-day collection of ₹9.35 crore, led by the Telugu version contributing ₹8.25 crore. However, the weekend witnessed a gradual dip, with ₹7.15 crore on Saturday and ₹6.9 crore on Sunday. By Monday, early estimates suggest the collection fell to around ₹2.50 crore.

Despite the decline in daily earnings, the film continues to generate buzz thanks to its mythological backdrop, high production values, and compelling performances. The ₹20 crore Hindi satellite deal underscores its appeal beyond the South and positions Kannappa as a major contender in the pan-Indian cinema space.
