Veteran actor and political leader Nandamuri Balakrishna has added another illustrious accolade to his cinematic journey. Celebrated for decades on the Telugu screen, Balakrishna was honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the International Film Festival of Delhi 2026, held at Bharat Mandap in the national capital on Wednesday evening. The event saw a glittering assembly of film personalities from across India.

The award recognized Balakrishna’s immense contributions to Indian cinema. He received the honor from Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, alongside legendary actress Sharmila Tagore and the late actor Dharmendra, who were also felicitated. Ministers Kapil Mishra and Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma joined the ceremony to congratulate him, while icons like Hema Malini and Kangana Ranaut inaugurated the event with a ceremonial lighting of the lamp.

A special cultural performance commemorating the 150th anniversary of the song Vande Mataram was a highlight of the evening.

Currently, Balakrishna is busy shooting for his 109th film under director Bobby. Even amidst a hectic schedule, receiving a national-level award underscores his enduring passion and dedication.
