Days after Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made valiant challenges in the state Assembly that they do not want Power from AP even if they offer now, Telangana government had gone back on its word. Minister Harish Rao in the assembly confirmed that the government is taking up the issue with the Center.
Speaking in Assembly, Harish Rao said, “Chandrababu government is trying its level best to trouble Telangana people. We will fight for our rightful share in Power from AP and we are already in consultation with Center regarding this”.
Harish Rao also confirmed that the state will also fight to bring back Lower Sileru back to Telangana. Harish Rao on the behalf of Telangana government requested Congress to rake up this issue in Parliament. This stance of the Telangana government is a complete deviation from KCR’s earlier challenge.
After the KCR’s challenge, APTRANSCO employees challenged KCR to say the same to Central government and end the PPAs controversy. It is known that Power from Central generating projects were divided in the ratio of their usage while the assets and liabilities are divided in the ratio of population.
Due to the method adopted, Andhra Pradesh is on losing side in Power. Chandrababu Naidu had withdrew unapproved PPAs of new power projects of Krishnapatnam and Hinduja and refused Telangana share from them. They only agreed to share in the equity of the project for Telangana’s investment.
