The talk that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu might induct his son Nara Lokesh into the State Cabinet sooner or later has generated a lot of euphoria among the Telugu Desam Party cadre; but it also led to a hush talk that it might trigger revolt within the N T Rama Rao family.
As if to make a beginning, Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh chairman and a staunch follower of Nandamuri family P R Mohan has issued a statement saying if Lokesh is considered for the Cabinet berth, then Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna should also be inducted into the Cabinet.
Mohan said Balayya had been in politics for quite some time and was senior to Lokesh. As an MLA of Hindupur, Balayya had been working relentlessly for the development of his constituency.
“Lokesh’s entry into the Cabinet is definitely a good news for the youth of the party. But, at the same time, Balayya also deserves the Cabinet berth. It would bring a lot of cheers to the Nandamuri fans across the State,” he said.
But, will Naidu oblige such requests? How can he give ministerial berths to his son and brother-in-law? In any case, it will be devil-and-the-deep sea situation for Naidu!
