What is wrong with the Andhra Pradesh wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party? Why the party is seeing issues regularly are the questions many have. The ongoing developments raise the same doubt. We have seen how Kanna Lakshminarayana’s episode created a sensation. Now the party is seeing another big issue.
There is a similarity between the two incidents. Rajya Sabha member GVL Narasimha Rao is involved in both incidents. While GVL countered the claims of Kanna and supported Andhra Pradesh BJP chief Somu Veerraju, his comments were countered by a former Union Minister.
Kapu community is one of the major communities in the divided state and all the parties are trying their best to woo them. GVL also joined the row and started batting for the rights of the community. He said that Kappus were neglected in the state.
GVL asked why no district was named after Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga who worked for the poor and needy. He made these comments talking about the districts named after YSR and NTR. He asked why the districts were named only after two people and said everything is between the two Chief Ministers.
Telugu Desam Party Founder NTR’s daughter Daggubati Purandeswari who is with the Bharatiya Janata Party countered the claims made by GVL and said that the two names are not normal. One person brought identity for the Telugu people and brought welfare and gave Rice at Rs 2 per kilo.
Daggubati Purandeswari also mentioned YSR and called him a leader who brought fees reimbursement and started services like Aarogyasri and free ambulance services. She said this on Twitter in a sense that don’t restrict the leaders to just names who have done so much for the people.
Now her counter to GVL has created a sensation in state politics and many say that this could be another issue in the Andhra Pradesh wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party and that needs to be addressed at the earliest.
The general elections are just one year away and internal issues are troubling the party. Recently Kanna left the party and raised several objections to the leadership in the state. Now another issue popped up.
