Despite the fact that the film is strictly for fans, and it has made sure that mass elevations given for hero Vijay by director Atlee will work out big time. That leads the film to collect nearly Rs 2.6+ crores share in Telugu states alone. If you could remember, this is the more than the lifetime share Surya’s Bandobast collected in the Telugu states, thereby indicating that Vijay got a new market here now.
At theatres like RTC X Roads, ‘Whistle’ collected nearly Rs 4.5+ lakhs on its first day, while the film’s nearest rival ‘Khaidi’ made only 1.1+ lakhs on its debuting day. Definitely ‘Whistle’ is the biggest opening for Vijay, in terms of not just money but also craze. And we have to say that Vijay should focus on reaping benefits from it for a long time.
Meanwhile, ‘Whistle’ did a pre-release business of close to 11 crores in AP and Telangana, so the film should do extremely well for the next two weeks to push distributors into a breakeven.
