The report that a senior Telangana leader who had once played a key role in the Telugu Desam Party had asked sitting TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy to come out of the party and join hands with him to launch a new political party raised many an eyebrow in the political circles.
The senior leader who is presently in an insignificant position in another party is contemplating launching a new political party and thought Revanth would be able to give strength to it, because it was only he who has been taking on the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
He reportedly told Revanth that they, together, would galvanise the support of Reddy community and gradually spread the party across the State in the next two years.
He also promised to bring the support of the Telangana JAC to fight against the TRS government.
It is a different matter that Revanth had turned down the offer stating that he was comfortable in the TDP and did not want to take risk at this stage.
He said many political parties were formed as alternatives to the TRS, but they all disappeared subsequently. So, it is better to try his luck with the TDP itself.
One must have got a faint idea by now as to who this gentleman who has given the bumper offer to Revanth could be. If the guess is right, it must be former minister Nagam Janardhan Reddy, who is waiting for a break in politics and is looking for a scapegoat to get into limelight. But Revanth refused to become the bakra!
