After dismal performance of his previous film One Nenokkadine, Mahesh Babu’s forthcoming film Aagadu gained so much significance. Not just in one way, but in many ways, Aagadu is crucial for Mahesh Babu. Although Mahesh often states that he is “not a game” for numer uno position, he is very much aware of how volatile the situations in industry are and the only way that keeps anyone going forward and growing is a “hit”. But for a star like Mahesh, the only way is an “industry hit” or “blockbuster”.
Considering that One Nenokkadine is an experimental film that had gone wrong, and his peer Pawan Kalyan hit hard with a blockbuster in form of Attarintiki Daredi, it’s time for Mahesh to bounce back. Though Mahesh walked away with “The Black Lady” as Best Actor in Filmfare Awards, it is Attarintiki Daredi that stood as “Best Film”. So, if Mahesh wants to go extra mile and wants to keep this honour under belt, he needs to come up with an industry hit and probably only a wholesome family entertainer would create such magic.
And another important reason is that a star’s brand value depends on the Box Office success of his/her films. No doubt, Mahesh holds a special record for being Brand Ambassador for a score of brands, and all leading brands are in his kitty and he charges a bomb, but to make it running all the time he should be at the top.
Above all, Mahesh needs a blockbuster in form of Aagadu to quench the thirst of his humongous fans. All the above reasons make Aagadu, crucial film for Mahesh.
