At a time everyone is celebrating both Baahubali and Srimanthudu’s record number of nominations at IIFA Utsavam, the first ever Souther version of popular IIFA awards, there are some disappointments too. If Baahubali and Srimanthudu could get enough of nominations, why there is no single nomination for heroine Anushka is the question of many.
Apparently Anushka’s looks in Baahubali are so stunning but she got dominated by Ramya Krishna’s role. However, her performance and presence in Rudramadevi are a revelation. If the likes of Tamanna (Baahubali), Lavanya Tripathi (Bhale Bhale Magadivoyi) and Shruti Haasan (Srimanthudu) could get a nomination for Best Actress role, why can’t Anushka for Rudramadevi?
Cinema lovers feel that this is utter disrespect to both a historical character. If a heroine has run the show on her shoulders, should she get some encouragement or not? We hear that both Anushka and Bunny are going to walk away with Critics Choice special awards at the IIFA Utsav unlike in these categories.
