Jr NTR always grabs headlines when it comes to TDP. He had played active role during 2009 elections and rallied for the party and was the star campaigner. However, things swiftly changed by 2014. NTR’s close-aide Kodali Nani had quit TDP and joined rival YSR Congress. Jr NTR’s pictures were surfaced on the flexis of YSR Congress adding more fuel. Many political analysts predicted that the turn of events were due to alleged “disrespect” and “mistreatment” of party towards his dad-Hari Krishna. Although Jr NTR had came out in open and clarified that he would continue to be in TDP till his “last breath”, he slowly became “inactive” in party for one reason or other. Meanwhile, Power Star Pawan Kalyan has replaced Jr NTR and he turned out to be the new star campaigner for TDP and garnered enough votes and seats.
Given that TDP swung into power in 2014 in Seemandhra, heydays are back. Telugu Desam Party, which is riding high as ruling party in Seemandhra and Opposition party in Telangana, has launched its membership drive grandly. Not surprisingly, legendary NTR’s son Nandamuri Hari Krishna has landed himself in NTR Bhavan (TDP Office) and took membership. This has caught attention. Hari Krishna, who had been reluctant to party activities before elections, has put all his differences aside and rushed to meet Chandrababu Naidu to congratulate soon after the election results. His son-Jr NTR too followed the suit then. But of late, NTR has been busy focusing on his films and staying away from politics.
Notwithstanding this, now his fans and many TDP activists are eagerly looking forward to see their favorite matinee idol to join TDP again by taking the membership like his father Hari Krishna. NTR is presently shooting for Puri Jagannadh’s film in Goa. Speculation is rife that NTR would return from shoot and visit NTR Bhavan to take party membership. After all he is Nandamuri scion and star hero who enjoys humongous fan base in masses. TDP sources too say that chances are alive for NTR and “all doors are open for him always”. Now, the ball is in NTR’s court. Let’s wait and see whether NTR bites the bullet or not.
