Will Kiran, Too, Join Hands With Naidu?

The entry of Nallari Kishore Kumar Reddy into the ruling Telugu Desam Party on Thursday, led to the speculations that his elder brother and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, too, might follow suit very soon.

According to the talk doing rounds in the media circles, Kiran himself had a word with TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and got his brother admitted into the ruling party.

Though Kiran is also looking at political rehabilitation, he has not spoken to Naidu about his intentions to join the TDP.

However, Naidu is learnt to have thrown an offer to Kiran as well, but the latter is said to be hesitant.

Reason is: Kiran ruled the state as the chief minister and he cannot accept a lesser post if he joins the TDP and work under Naidu. So, for now, Kiran may extend support to the TDP from outside and work for the success of his brother.

That is the reason why Naidu sought to keep Kiran in good spirits by praising him while admitting Kishore Kumar Reddy.

He recalled how Kiran fought tooth and nail against the Congress high command which sought to divide the state in the most unscientific manner.

Ironically, Kiran used to be the bitter enemy of Naidu when the latter was in the opposition.

As the chief whip of the Congress party, Kiran was attacking Naidu in the most pungent manner and when Kiran was being made the Speaker of the assembly, Naidu did not cooperate in his election unanimously.

But now, the defection of Kishore into the TDP has ended the long-standing political feud between the Nallari and Nara families in Chittoor district.
