‘I will not be Indian coach’- Ex-Sri Lanka captain

Clearing a range of rumors from sports enthusiasts who’re spreading out that Sri Lankan former captain and right handed batsman Mahela Jayawardene will be head coach for team India, the retired cricketer directly took to Twitter and said that he’s ‘flattered’ with that speculation but not yet ready to take up full time job.

Ever since the former coach Anil Kumble stepped down on June 20th, several big names emerged about his successor – including former Indian opening batsman Virendra Sehwag, Tom Moody, Mahela and others. But, Jayawardene himself took to Twitter and said that his complete focus is on current commitments.

Currently, the former Sri Lankan batsman is acting as head coach for IPL’s Mumbai Indians (MI) team and Bangladesh Premier League’s Khulna Titans (KT). ‘Flattered by speculation linking me to India coaching job but I am not looking at full-time positions right now. I am completely focused on current commitments with MI and Khulna.’ – tweeted Mahela in a couple of tweets.

Now that the disturbed equation between skipper Virat Kohli and coach Anil Kumble is out, BCCI is on hunt for a smart coach who lead team more efficiently and with out any untenability.
