The summer season is only getting intense with each passing week and after Sarrainodu’s oora mass treat last week, Tollywood is gearing up for a blend of mass and class in the form of Supreme and Suriya’s 24. While Supreme is vying for a May 5th release, 24 has been confirmed to release on May 6th.
However, the latest we hear is that the makers of Supreme are in dual minds about placing the film against 24 and are planning to step back on its release. Suriya is a hugely popular star among the Telugu audiences and with Vikram Kumar’s phenomenal track record, 24 may have an upper hand over Supreme in A centres, multiplexes and in overseas.
On the other hand, Supreme is an out and out mass action entertainer and unless the film clicks well with the masses, it will struggle hard in presence of 24. Also, overseas buyers are slightly wary of the recent failures of mass films, Sardaar and Sarrainodu.
And if Supreme backs out eventually, it will then have to hit the screens in the third week of May, before Brahmotsavam and A..Aa take over.
