Xiaomi Mi Max, MIUI 8 to launch on June 30 in India

Xiaomi is all set to unveil the Mi Max phablet along with its custom UI, MIUI 8, which is designed for Android 6.0 Marshmallow. With the launch of its redesigned interface, MIUI 8, Xiaomi will introduce a list of new features— improving its ability to fix bugs and stability.

The MIUI 8 interface will feature lock-screen wallpapers, a Gallery app—which will let users to add filters, crop-images and include videos editing tools too, and an advance calculator app—allowing users to convert live currencies, temperature from degrees to Fahrenheit and vice-versa along with other conventions.

Apart from it, the interface is also featuring a Note app— which can be secured using a password or a fingerprint, a text message filter—which warns users of fraud messages, and a power saving mode—which freezes background app, saving device’s battery life.The MIUI 8 ROM will be available for most of the Xiaomi smartphones such as Mi 2, Mi 2s, Mi 3, Mi4, Mi 4c, Mi4s and Mi 5, and is also compatible with Xiaomi’s Redmi and Notes series.

The Mi Max phablet will feature a 6.44-inch FULL HD (1080p) display. The phablet will be available in three variants, where the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage option will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 650 Soc, whereas 3GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant are powered by Snapdragon 652 SoC.

As for the camera, the Mi Max will sport a 16MP rear-sensor with PDAF and LED Flash, while the front camera will sport 5MP sensor. Packed with 4850mAh battery and Quick Charge support, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, GPS and Bluetooth connectivity.

The phablet runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and is expected to retail at a price ranging between Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000.As for now, Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed the pricing for the Indian market. More details will be revealed closer to its launch, on June 30.
