Madhupriya, the popular young folk singer from Telangana who shot to fame in a singers contest with the superhit ‘Aadapillanamma’ song, has been a child prodigy and her songs enthralled her fans and TV viewers for the last five years. Madhupriya also became a gave of protestors during the separate Telangana movement.
Now, the young singer who turned 18 around a month ago, has been in news as her marriage to her lover Srikanth was scheduled to take place in a secret manner today in Sirpur Kagaznagar in Adilabad. Apparently, the young couple has been in love for the past couple of years and told their parents about their willingness to get married.
While the boy’s parents were supportive of the couple’s choice, Madhupriya’s parents too were okay with the marriage but requested them to get married at least next year, keeping Madhupriya’s singing career in mind. Upset with her parents suggestion, Madhupriya approached police and sought their help for their marriage, stating that she is a major.
This morning, Madhupriya’s parents reportedly tried to kidnap her from the wedding venue, only to be stopped by the cops. The police are counseling the parents and the couple at the moment. But looks like Madhupriya is determined to get married, leaving the police and her parents clueless.
