YS Jagan Faces Multiple Legal Cases in Guntur

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy is currently facing a string of legal troubles.

Most recently, Guntur police booked a case against him after a car in which he was traveling struck and killed an elderly man during his trip to Sattenapalli.

Shortly thereafter, yet another case was registered against him — also in Guntur — this time for violating the election code of conduct. According to reports, Jagan attended a public event at the Guntur Mirchi Yard on February 19 despite prior warnings, as the local body election code was in effect.

Although authorities had warned him against holding the event, Jagan went ahead with the program, sparking complaints at the time. Many questioned why a case wasn’t filed immediately. After some delay, action was finally taken and a case has now been registered.

In connection with this incident, other senior YSRCP leaders — including Ambati Rambabu, Appi Reddy, and Madugula Venugopal Reddy — have also been served notices under Section 41A.

With multiple legal cases piling up against him in quick succession, speculation is rife that the former Chief Minister may face further consequences. Meanwhile, investigations into the liquor scam also continue to progress rapidly.
