Tollywood Awaits Updates on Allu Arjun and NTR’s Big Pan-India Films

Both 2026 and 2027 are shaping up to be critical years for Tollywood, with several highly anticipated pan-India big-budget films slated for release. The box office performance of these films will be closely watched by trade circles, especially after 2025 proved disappointing, with no Telugu film entering the prestigious ₹500 crore or ₹1000 crore clubs. There is mounting pressure on the industry to deliver major hits, reminiscent of its previous peak years.

Some of the upcoming high-profile releases, such as Spirit, Varanasi, and Peddi, have already begun generating buzz. The teams behind these films flagged off promotional activities well in advance, successfully creating hype beyond the Telugu-speaking states. The impressive content released by the makers has further boosted audience interest and expectations.

However, two other marquee projects have remained in complete radio silence since going on floors. One of them is Allu Arjun’s most expensive project with director Atlee, and the other is NTR’s big-budget pan-India drama under Prashanth Neel. Both AA22 and NTRNeel are carrying massive expectations, not just in trade circles but also among fans. Despite having gone on floors last year, neither project has announced a title or started promotions, leaving fans eagerly waiting for updates.

While there is still ample time before their releases, the lack of promotional activity risks diminishing initial hype. Fans are urging the makers to at least announce the titles to maintain engagement. Coming off a blockbuster with Pushpa 2, Allu Arjun enjoys strong momentum, whereas NTR is recovering from the commercial disappointment of War 2. With significant investments at stake for both films, it is increasingly urgent for the teams to kickstart promotions. Clarity on release dates and further updates will likely emerge only when the makers break their long silence.
