YS Jagan’s Own Survey: TDP Wins

Even as various exit polls are in favour of Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP in Nandyal by-poll, YSRCP leaders have been maintaining that their party would come out of flying colours in the by-election. Both TDP and YSRCP are initially confident of their victory in the by-election.

But the highest voter turnout – that recorded more than 80 percent – sent shivers among both ruling TDP and opposition YSR Congress Party. While TDP claimed the large voter turn out was a result of successful political strategy adopted Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the election, Jagan’s supporters maintained people voted in large numbers only to express their discontentment on Naidu’s government.

However, in a rude shock, Jagan’s own survey said to have confirmed the TDP’s victory in Nandyal. The survey reportedly indicated a comfortable majority for the TDP and limited YSRCP to the second position and Congress to the third position. This is now not going down well with party president Jagan who has vigorously campaigned in Nandyal and conducted road shows for over 10 days.

Although YSR Congress given tough fight, majority of people – as per Jagan’s survey – seems to have inclined to vote TDP. Sympathy on Bhuma family and TDP’s promises apparently played significant role. Disappointed Jagan is learnt to have asked his party leaders to immediately send village-wise feedback to cross-check and ascertain whether the survey results are genuine or not.
