YS Sharmila Slams Jagan Over Politics and BJP Ties

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Y S Sharmila on Thursday launched a scathing attack on her brother and former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing him of insecurity over reports of her son Y S Raja Reddy’s possible entry into politics.

Speaking at a press conference, Sharmila dismissed rumors surrounding her son’s political debut. “My son hasn’t even stepped into politics. If YSRCP is reacting so nervously even before that, is it fear or insecurity? Only they know,” she said.

Sharmila also responded to the social media campaigns by YSRCP questioning her son’s legacy. “My son is Y S Raja Reddy, named by YSR himself. No amount of mudslinging can change his identity. No matter how loudly YSRCP’s gang barks, he is the heir of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy,” she asserted.

Criticizing Jagan Mohan Reddy’s political decisions, Sharmila questioned his party’s stand in the recent Vice-Presidential elections. “Why didn’t Jagan support Justice Sudarshan Reddy, a constitutional expert? Instead, he backed the RSS-supported candidate. If YSR were alive, he would have been ashamed,” she said.

Sharmila accused her brother of aligning with the BJP, calling him “Modi’s foster son” and highlighting YSRCP’s consistent support for BJP bills in Parliament. She further contrasted this with the open alliance between TDP and Jana Sena, claiming that Jagan maintains a “secret alliance” with the saffron party. “YSRCP is acting as BJP’s tail party. If you have courage, admit it openly. If not, tattoo BJP on your hand,” she taunted.

Questioning Jagan’s ideological stance, Sharmila said, “As YSR’s son, do you still carry your father’s ideology, or have you adopted RSS principles? Has Modi become your god?” She warned that history would not forgive Jagan for siding with the BJP, declaring, “History will remember him as the one who stabbed YSR in the chest.”

Finally, Sharmila criticized YSRCP for lacking vision, ideology, and agenda. “This party indulges in political opportunism, trading loyalty for survival,” she said, underlining her belief that the party is directionless under Jagan’s leadership.
