In a jolt to YS Jagan, founding member of YSR Congress and senior leader Konathala Ramakrishna who had been supporting YS Jagan even before YSRCP was floated, has quit the party and all posts in protest to alleged “injustice” meted out to him. Konathala was said to be unhappy over Jagan and party for a while and he is of the opinion that he is being “humiliated”, “degraded” by party.
Sources close to Konathala confirmed that Konathala quit because of “treatment”, “disrespect” as he doesn’t want to continue in YSRCP where his “self-respect” is being demeaned. Buzz is that Konathala was quite disappointed with the elevation of Jagan’s business aide Vijay Sai Reddy in the party by turning down senior leaders like him. Vijay Sai Reddy had been appointed as Party General Secretary, which is one of the highest posts in the party.
Unable to digest this, Konathala has resigned to his membership in Political Affairs Committee of YSR Congress and also resigned to primary membership of the party. Along with his resignation, Konathala said to have shot a strong letter to Jagan and this has become talking point in political circles. After the likes of Sabbam Hari, Jupudi Prabhakar Rao, one more senior leader Konathla has quite the party now.
