PrimeShow Entertainment vs Mythri Movie Makers: ‘Jai Hanuman’ Sequel Sparks Tension

PrimeShow Entertainment, the banner behind the surprise blockbuster Hanu-Man, built its reputation on a clear philosophy — trust strong stories and give directors complete creative freedom.
When the production house backed Hanu-Man, it reportedly gave director Prasanth Varma full control over the vision. That decision paid off spectacularly, with the film emerging as one of the most talked-about and commercially successful ventures in recent Telugu cinema.
Riding high on that success, PrimeShow moved quickly to expand the franchise. From the profits of Hanu-Man, the banner is said to have advanced around ₹9 crore initially for the sequel Jai Hanuman. In total, nearly ₹25 crore was reportedly invested in developing future projects like Jai Hanuman, Adhira, and Mahakali, signaling an ambitious plan to build a larger cinematic universe.
However, the sequel’s journey has now hit an unexpected roadblock.
Industry buzz indicates that Prasanth Varma has entered into an agreement with Mythri Movie Makers for Jai Hanuman, with an official announcement likely soon. This development has reportedly left PrimeShow Entertainment concerned, especially regarding earlier financial commitments and development efforts tied to the sequel.
Sources suggest there are serious contractual and ethical questions surrounding the shift of the project to a different banner.
Adding further intrigue, reports linking Rishab Shetty to the sequel under the new production house have sparked fresh industry attention. Observers are now closely watching how leading talent navigates a project caught amid a production dispute.
PrimeShow Entertainment has reportedly stated that if Jai Hanuman is officially announced under another banner, it will hold a press meet to present its version of events, including details of its financial investments and developmental role in shaping the sequel. Legal action is also said to be an option if required to safeguard its interests.
With Jai Hanuman carrying enormous expectations following Hanu-Man’s success, Tollywood is now waiting to see whether the sequel progresses smoothly — or evolves into one of the industry’s most closely watched production face-offs.
