Actor Siddharth, known for his bold and candid opinions, recently made headlines during his appearance at the Hyderabad Literary Festival. Invited as a guest to discuss his film Chithha, which deals with the sensitive topic of child abuse, Siddharth praised the film’s powerful message.

During the session, renowned singer Vidya Rao asked Siddharth to share his thought process behind choosing Chithha. The actor revealed that while he had the option to pursue more commercially viable films, he chose Chithha because it focuses on child safety and ends on a hopeful note. He further added that if the film had concluded with themes of revenge, justice, or vendetta, it could have earned 15 times more profit but would have lost its core message of hope.

Siddharth also touched upon the issue of toxic masculinity in the industry, sharing his experiences of rejecting scripts that portrayed harmful stereotypes. He recalled receiving offers where his character would slap women, perform item songs, or make inappropriate comments. “I rejected them outright,” he said. “I could have been a far bigger star today if I had followed those scripts, but I chose to do what felt right instinctively.”

The actor emphasized that the satisfaction he derives from his work cannot be measured in monetary terms, highlighting his commitment to meaningful roles. Looking ahead, Siddharth is set to star in his next film Test, a Tamil romantic drama featuring Nayanthara and Madhavan.
