Toxic Postponed, March Box Office Gets a Major Shake-Up

March 4, 2026

March was expected to be a high-voltage month for cinema lovers, with big-ticket releases like Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic lining up for a box-office clash. The presence of these heavyweights even forced several smaller films to reconsider and postpone their release plans.

However, in a surprising turn of events, Yash’s much-anticipated pan-India film Toxic, which was originally scheduled for March 19, 2026, has now been postponed to June 4. This strategic shift has effectively cleared the path for Dhurandhar 2 to enjoy a relatively uncluttered release window.

The first installment of Dhurandhar had arrived with modest buzz but gradually built strong momentum thanks to its mass appeal and positive word of mouth. Now, the sequel is carrying substantial hype even before release, with trade circles buzzing about its scale, action canvas, and impressive screen allocation.

The makers of Toxic reportedly opted for a delay to ensure a smooth pan-world rollout. Given the current uncertainties in parts of the Middle East — a crucial overseas market — the team decided it would be safer to push the release to June to protect potential revenue streams.

With Toxic moving out of March, Dhurandhar 2 gets a significant advantage across most territories. Although the film is said to be banned in certain Gulf regions, it is gearing up for a massive release in all other key markets.

Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh is preparing for a grand theatrical release on March 26. Earlier, producer Dil Raju had acquired the rights for Toxic with plans for a wide distribution. With Toxic postponed, Ustaad Bhagat Singh is now expected to benefit from increased screen availability, regardless of initial talk.

While the postponement of Toxic came as an unexpected development, it has undoubtedly reshaped the March box-office landscape — creating fresh opportunities for other major releases to capitalize on the open window.
