Dhurandhar 2 Shatters All-Time Box Office Records Worldwide

Some films chase records, a few come close, but Dhurandhar 2 has gone far beyond expectations by rewriting box office history. Released on March 19 with paid previews from March 18, the film opened to an extraordinary response and continued its unstoppable run across India and overseas markets. Even before its release, it created massive hype by selling nearly 9.25 lakh advance tickets across national cinema chains, making it one of the highest pre-release sales ever.
The film set a new benchmark with ₹43 crore from paid previews, the highest in India, and followed it with a record-breaking Day 1 collection of ₹102.55 crore nett in India, including ₹99.10 crore from the Hindi version alone. With previews added, the opening day domestic total reached ₹145.55 crore. On its global opening day, the film grossed around ₹236.63 crore worldwide, marking one of the biggest starts ever for an Indian film.
What followed was an exceptional box office streak as the film maintained strong momentum week after week, with its third-week numbers ranking among the best in Hindi cinema. It became a phenomenon for its speed, crossing ₹500 crore in Hindi in just 6 days, then racing past ₹800 crore in India within 11 days, and eventually entering the elite ₹1,000 crore nett club in India by Day 18—becoming the first Hindi film to achieve this milestone.
In just 11 days, it also surpassed the lifetime collection of its predecessor, Dhurandhar – ₹840 crore, making it one of the fastest sequels to achieve such a feat. Worldwide, the film crossed ₹1,000 crore within a week and continued its dream run, with overseas earnings surpassing ₹400 crore in the first month, driven strongly by North America and other key markets.
In a rare achievement, Dhurandhar 2 emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film excluding Gulf and China markets, crossing ₹1,700 crore worldwide within weeks. By the end of 30 days, its India nett collections crossed ₹1,100 crore, officially making it the highest-grossing Hindi film ever. With a global total nearing ₹1,700 crore, the film now stands among the top three highest-grossing Indian films of all time, steadily closing in on historic industry records.
