Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan, who was last seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani, is gearing up for her next big-screen appearance in a comedy film titled Darwaza. The film also stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Wamiqa Gabbi in key roles.

Interestingly, Jaya admitted she was initially unsure about taking on the role, but director Vikas Bahl’s conviction convinced her. Sharing her thoughts, Jaya said, “People often ask me why I don’t act more often, but honestly, where are the roles that truly excite me? I’m not interested in playing the usual mother characters that come my way.”

She further added, “When Vikas approached me with this quirky and fun concept, my first question was if he was absolutely sure about casting me. I’ve dabbled in comedy before — like in Jawani Diwani, which had several light-hearted moments. I’ve always enjoyed playing cheerful, vibrant characters.”

With Darwaza, Jaya is ready to explore her comedic side once again, much to the anticipation of her fans who are eager to see her in a lively, unconventional role.
