Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life Audio Launch Postponed Amid Border Tensions
Veteran actor Kamal Haasan’s much-anticipated film Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam, is set to hit theatres on June 5. However, the makers have decided to postpone the grand audio launch, which was originally scheduled for May 16, citing the prevailing tensions along India’s borders.
In an official statement titled “Art Can Wait. India Comes First,” Kamal Haasan’s production banner, Raajkamal Films International, stated:
“In view of the developments at our nation’s border and the current state of heightened alert, we have decided to reschedule the audio launch of Thug Life, originally planned for the 16th of May.”
The statement further added, “As our soldiers stand firm on the frontlines with unflinching courage in defence of our motherland, I believe it is a time for quiet solidarity, not celebration.”
Thug Life marks the powerful reunion of Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam after 33 years since their cult classic Nayakan. The film also boasts a stellar ensemble cast including Simbu, Trisha, Ashok Selvan, Abhirami, and Nasser, making it one of the most awaited films of 2025.
