Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan has been going through a challenging phase in his career. Once known for back-to-back blockbusters, the star is currently facing a string of flops, which has slowed down his momentum in the industry. However, Aamir is now working hard to bounce back with multiple projects.

He is currently acting in and producing two upcoming films — ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ and ‘Lahore 1947’ — both of which are in the production stage. Apart from these, Aamir is also set to make a special guest appearance in Superstar Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated film, ‘Coolie’.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan recently made headlines by confirming his long-cherished dream project — a cinematic adaptation of the Mahabharata. He revealed that script work is underway, and described the project as one of his biggest ambitions. According to Aamir, the writing process will take years, and due to the epic scale of the story, it cannot be told in a single film. Instead, he plans to bring the Mahabharata to life as a multi-part series.

To develop the script, Aamir reportedly consulted renowned writer Vijayendra Prasad, father of director S.S. Rajamouli. As the script progresses, Aamir is also focusing on casting major roles from the epic. While he has reserved the role of Lord Krishna for himself, he is actively scouting other top actors for key characters.

In this context, reports suggest that Aamir Khan recently met Tollywood’s Icon Star Allu Arjun during the latter’s visit to Mumbai for discussions on his upcoming film with director Atlee. Aamir is said to have approached Allu Arjun for the role of Arjuna in the Mahabharata project. Sources claim that Bunny expressed keen interest in the role, and an official announcement from Aamir Khan could be expected soon.

The ambitious Mahabharata adaptation is reportedly being planned as a five- or six-part cinematic saga, aiming to bring the mythological epic to life on a grand scale like never before.
