Nagarjuna Eyes Telugu Rights for Rajinikanth’s Coolie
If industry sources are to be believed, seasoned Telugu superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni is in advanced negotiations to bag the Telugu distribution rights of the much-anticipated Tamil action-adventure film Coolie. Featuring an ensemble cast that includes Rajinikanth, Aamir Khan, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, and several other big names, Coolie has already generated substantial buzz across the Indian film industry.
According to a leading distributor, Nagarjuna is eyeing the opportunity to release the film across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana under his prestigious Annapurna Studios banner. “The Tamil producers have quoted a price of approximately ₹45 crore for the Telugu rights — a figure only top-tier players can afford. Given Nagarjuna’s financial muscle and strong industry influence, he is seriously evaluating the deal,” the source revealed.
What makes this move even more interesting is Nagarjuna’s involvement in the film itself. He plays a crucial role in Coolie, which is being directed by blockbuster filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj. Known for his unique blend of action and gripping narratives, Lokesh is expected to deliver yet another high-octane entertainer that merges talent and styles from across Indian cinema.
“Having worked directly on the project, Nagarjuna has a clear understanding of its grand scale and massive commercial potential,” the distributor added. “With such a pan-India ensemble, including stars from Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and Tamil industries, Coolie holds strong appeal for mass audiences across the country.”
Beyond his on-screen contribution, Nagarjuna’s well-established distribution network in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana gives him a significant edge in ensuring maximum reach for the film. His strategic move highlights his expanding role not only as a top actor but also as a key player in regional film distribution.
With Coolie already making waves across multiple languages, insiders believe that Nagarjuna’s bet on acquiring its Telugu rights could very well turn out to be a blockbuster success.
