Vijay Deverakonda Backs Court Order on Chiranjeevi Film Reviews

Actor Vijay Deverakonda has reacted to the court order restricting reviews and ratings for Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu on a leading ticketing platform. The film is one of the most anticipated releases of the year, and the order was issued ahead of its release to curb organised negative reviews and targeted rating campaigns.

Extending his support to the move, Vijay Deverakonda shared a detailed note on X, expressing mixed emotions over the development. He wrote that while he was happy the hard work, dreams, and investments of many people were being protected, it was also saddening to see such measures become necessary due to malicious activities within the industry.

“Happy and sad to see this — happy to know the hard work, dreams, and money of many are protected in a way, and sad because of the reality of our own people causing these problems. What happened to live and let live, and growing together?” he tweeted.

Recalling his own experiences, Vijay said he first witnessed the politics of organised online attacks during the time of Dear Comrade. He noted that despite raising his voice on the issue over the years, his concerns were often dismissed with the argument that no one could stop a good film. However, he said producers and directors who collaborated with him eventually realised the scale of the problem.

In his continued message, Vijay revealed the emotional toll such attacks had taken on him. “I have stayed up many nights wondering what kind of people do this and how to deal with them — to protect my dreams and the dreams of many who will come like me and after me,” he wrote.

He concluded by welcoming the court’s recognition of the issue, stating that even films starring someone as influential as Megastar Chiranjeevi were not immune. While admitting the order may not completely eliminate the problem, Vijay expressed hope that it would at least remove one major concern for filmmakers.
