Ram Charan’s ‘Peddi’ Delayed Due to Rahman’s Pending Work

Mega Powerstar Ram Charan’s much-awaited film Peddi was initially gearing up for an April 30 release, with strong buzz, hit songs, and rising expectations. The actor himself had earlier confirmed the date during Rakasa promotions, showing confidence in sticking to the plan. However, the film has now backed out of that release window, and industry insiders point to one key reason—music composer AR Rahman.
The Oscar-winning composer is reportedly yet to complete the background score, particularly for the crucial second half of the film. While the first half’s scoring was wrapped up nearly a month ago and has received positive feedback, the remaining work is still in progress. Known for his meticulous approach, Rahman prefers working on a fully locked version of the film rather than composing in parts. Since the second half edit was finalized only recently, he is said to have requested at least a month’s time to complete the score.
Adding to the delay, director Buchi Babu Sana was still shooting portions of the film until the end of March, which disrupted the post-production timeline. Earlier plans to release the film in March itself would have required completion well in advance, but the extended shoot pushed things further.
Moreover, an item song is still pending, with the makers currently searching for the right actress to feature alongside Ram Charan. Names like Mrunal Thakur and Manasa Varanasi are reportedly not part of the plan.
With multiple elements still incomplete, the team is now aiming to wrap up all formalities and target a release in June 2026.
