Lokesh Kanagaraj, one of the most celebrated Tamil directors of this generation, is currently immersed in the promotions of his upcoming film Coolie, starring Superstar Rajinikanth. The highly anticipated action drama is set for a grand worldwide release on August 14.

Amidst the buzz surrounding Coolie, fans have been eagerly waiting for updates on Lokesh’s future projects, especially within the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). In a recent interview, Lokesh finally opened up about his lineup and clarified the sequence of his next ventures.

Lokesh confirmed that Kaithi 2 will be his immediate next project. Following that, he plans to collaborate with Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan for a massive superhero action film, which is poised to be one of the biggest in the genre. Only after that, he intends to work on Vikram 2, continuing his LCU narrative.

He also expressed his desire to make Master 2 and Leo 2, but revealed that these projects are uncertain due to Vijay’s unavailability as he is stepping into politics. Lokesh added that the much-discussed Rolex movie is also in his plans, but the schedule will depend on actors’ availability and other logistical factors.

“Kaithi 2 is next. I have a commitment with Kamal sir to finish Vikram 2. I wanted to do Master 2 and Leo 2, but Vijay anna is not available now, and we don’t know when he will return. After Kaithi 2, it will most likely be Aamir sir’s film, which is going to be the biggest superhero action movie,” Lokesh shared.

Interestingly, Lokesh’s project sequence has seen several changes. While many expected Kaithi 2 and Vikram 2 right after Coolie, Aamir Khan’s standalone superhero film has reshuffled those expectations. Notably, Coolie itself is not part of the LCU.

While the excitement around the LCU remains strong, Lokesh’s growing commitments with top stars seem to be affecting its momentum. Fans are now keen to see how he balances these high-profile projects while keeping the LCU alive and thriving.
