Preethi Mukundan Eyes Comeback with New South Projects
Tamil beauty Preethi Mukundan first came into the spotlight with Kannappa, but her Tollywood journey actually began much earlier with Ombheem Bhush. Unfortunately, the film’s failure meant she couldn’t make her mark despite having both beauty and acting talent. Even though she never shied away from adding a dose of glamour when the role demanded, luck simply didn’t favour her.
With no steady flow of opportunities or successes, her career fell behind. Eventually, she got a big break through the Manchu family with Kannappa, where she played the main lead. Being a pan-India project, she believed success was guaranteed and gave her all—both in performance and glamour. However, the film’s outcome left her deeply disappointed, and currently, she has no new Tollywood offers in hand.
Shifting her focus to other industries, Preethi is now acting in a Malayalam film titled Maine Pyaar Kiya, with Hridh Haroon as the hero. The shoot is already complete, and the movie is set for release on August 29. Even before its release, reports suggest she has bagged two more Malayalam projects, though details remain under wraps. Kollywood media also claims she has signed two Tamil films.
If these projects click, Preethi might finally get busy in the South and possibly make a comeback to Tollywood. After all, failures are common, but those who overcome them often see their careers soar. It remains to be seen if Preethi will join the list of heroines who bounced back stronger.
