Kajal & Tamannaah Under Police Radar in Crypto Scam Probe
In recent times, investigative agencies have intensified their crackdown on brand ambassadors and celebrity endorsers associated with fraudulent companies. With numerous financial scams surfacing, authorities are now holding celebrities accountable for their promotional associations with such entities.
In this context, leading actresses Kajal Aggarwal and Tamannaah Bhatia have come under police scrutiny following allegations of a massive cryptocurrency fraud involving a Puducherry-based company they had endorsed.
The firm, which promised high returns on cryptocurrency investments, allegedly duped several investors and vanished with tens of crores. Reports indicate that at least 10 people from Puducherry alone lost around Rs 2.4 crore, while a retired government employee, Ashokan from Laspettai, claimed he was defrauded of a staggering Rs 40 crore. The company, established in 2022 and headquartered in Coimbatore, organized high-profile launch events to lure investors.
At its grand launch, Tamannaah Bhatia and several film personalities were present, lending credibility to the enterprise. Months later, another high-profile event was hosted at a luxury hotel in Mahabalipuram, where Kajal Aggarwal participated. During this event, 100 investors were reportedly gifted luxury cars worth between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 1 crore based on their investments.
Given their direct association with the company’s promotional events, authorities are keen to question both Tamannaah and Kajal Aggarwal to determine whether they were merely endorsers or had any financial involvement in the fraudulent scheme. The actresses are currently under investigation by the Puducherry Police.
With the growing trend of celebrities being held accountable for endorsing fraudulent businesses, this case could set a precedent for the accountability of brand ambassadors in financial scams.
