Shraddha Kapoor has always commanded attention, and her latest move is once again making waves in the industry. According to recent reports, the actress has reportedly opted out of a much-anticipated thriller directed by Tumbbad fame Rahi Anil Barve, which was being produced by Ekta Kapoor. The buzz is that Shraddha demanded a fee of Rs 17 crore along with a share in the film’s profits—terms that allegedly didn’t sit well with the production house.

While there’s been no official confirmation from the director or producers, Barve took to social media to urge fans to ignore the rumors. He refrained from commenting on Shraddha’s involvement but stated his focus is currently on wrapping up the Netflix project Rakt Brahmand starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, as well as preparing for his next film.

Industry insiders, however, suggest the search is already on for a new leading lady. Shraddha’s reported exit came as a surprise to many, especially after the huge success of Stree 2, which helped reignite her momentum in Bollywood.

While it’s common for stars to negotiate aggressively, sources say the compensation Shraddha sought for a female-led thriller may have exceeded the budget expectations of the producers. Whether the fallout stemmed from financial terms or creative differences remains unclear—but the chatter around the exit has certainly been louder than usual.

Despite this setback, Shraddha’s calendar looks far from empty. She is expected to return for Stree 3, remains linked to the ambitious Naagin trilogy, and is said to be in discussions with several top production houses. One project may be off the table, but it’s clear she’s choosing quality roles over quantity—and still very much in demand.
