Vijay Deverakonda’s highly anticipated film Kingdom has officially been postponed to July 4th. Initially, the release date was occupied by Nithiin’s Thammudu. The makers of Kingdom thanked Nithiin and Dil Raju during the postponement announcement, signaling that Thammudu would be shifted to another date. Sources indicate that the new release date for Thammudu is now set for July 24.

Initially, it was speculated that Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara would release on July 24. However, with the delay in VFX work, it seems likely that Thammudu has now taken over that date. Sitara Entertainments and Dil Raju’s SVC banner have a history of collaboration, and it’s believed that at the Sitara team’s request, Dil Raju has agreed to move Thammudu to the later date.

The postponement of Kingdom to July 4th is considered a favorable move, as the film faces minimal competition, given that several films like Thug Life, Hari Hara Veeramallu, Kubera, Kannappa, and Sitaare Zameen Par are set to release in June. This allows the Kingdom team ample time to focus on post-production and final re-recording work.

On the other hand, Thammudu will benefit from the delay, with the team using the additional three weeks to ramp up its promotional efforts. Directed by Gautham Tinnanuri, Kingdom is set against the backdrop of Sri Lankan war refugees, a fresh concept for Telugu cinema. The film’s team is optimistic that this unique setting will offer a completely new experience for audiences. Anirudh Ravichander will now have more time to finalize the background score.

Directed by Sriram Venu, Thammudu stars Nithiin as an archer, a role unlike any he has portrayed in his career. The film also features Saptami Gowda, Laya, Varsha Bollama, and Swasika in pivotal roles.
